l'Entre-Monde
I haven't quite figured out the plot yet for l'Entre Monde, created by Yanouch.
From what I can glean from the rough English translation, l'Entre-Monde is a world pushed over the brink of disaster. Mutants and cyborgs roam free across devastated cities. The military is authorized to use lethal force against protestors. And somewhere in the middle of this is a homeless psychic named Samuel and a corporate-created cyborg assassin named Ekko.
The story seems to pay lip-service to Ghost In The Shell and Mad Max.
Photo references were used for much of the art, particularly when it comes to the faces of the characters. This gives the art an interesting texture and an immediacy of character development that is otherwise lacking from the translated version of the book.
Overall, the story looks to have some good potential.
Be warned. This comic contains nudity, violence and swearing. It is not recommended for a younger audience and is most definitely Not Safe For Work.
I highly recommend watching the animated intro here, which is an entertaining (if incomplete) cyberpunk animation.
You can read the ongoing original French version here and a very rough ongoing English translation here.
