Well, this was completely unavoidable. The Matrix was the mainstream acceptance of Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk had been left dormant or pushed to the edges of even "mainstream" science fiction since Bladerunner. Then Keanu "stoned-face" Reeves popped up with such words of wisdom as "I know Kung-fu," and the enlightening mantra, "Whoah..." to bring cyberpunk to the forefront of pop culture...
